Introduction
Since China opened to the rest of the world in the early 1970s, western media has been paying particular attention to it.
In this country the number of tourists has increased significantly in the last ten years, it is rare for travellers not to come across groups of people of various age groups, both in the streets and in parks and gardens, performing sequences of slow and graceful movements.
Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) and Chi Kung (Qi Gong) are considered the Chinese meditation in motion and are increasingly known in our country for the health benefits. When performed slowly and smoothly, all movements can be performed without much of a physical effort.
Thus, people wishing to learn this technique are not subject to age limits or medical restrictions (even in the case of chronic diseases such as cancer or arteriosclerosis). On the contrary, in many cases, Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung have established themselves as a complementary physical therapist technique and, especially for the elderly, and practiced regularly, is an effective way to prevent various health issues.
In ancient China, thousands of years ago, were developed exercises to achieve a long and healthy life, with Tai Chi and Chi Kung being part of a tradition and culture *.
